The recently held Presidential Parley with SEC 47 marked a defining moment for Nigeria’s search for sustainable solutions to insecurity. During the meeting held on 10th December 2025, the President delivered a firm challenge to NIPSS and its alumni body, AANI, underscoring their critical role in shaping the nation’s policy future.
The President did not mince words. He called for immediate, strategic, and actionable recommendations to help address Nigeria’s pressing security concerns, particularly the surge in kidnapping, banditry, and new threats emerging in communities across the federation.
For many in attendance, the charge was not only timely but reflective of a growing national sentiment: Nigeria needs expert grounding in its approach to security, and NIPSS/AANI remain uniquely positioned to provide this.
AANI, in its response, pledged swift action. The association will commence mobilizing specialists from various sectors to contribute their expertise to the national task. This multidisciplinary approach ensures that the recommendations developed will be holistic, pragmatic, and impactful.
